Who we are

My name is Elizabeth Humphreys, and I am the founder of Lighthouse Consulting. In addition, I serve as the Executive Director of Mind What Matters, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Through my journey of serving others, I recognized a critical gap: many caregivers require a more personalized, one-on-one approach to navigate the challenges that often extend beyond the scope of traditional medical care. Caring for someone with a memory disorder inevitably raises complex questions, and there is immense value in connecting with someone who has firsthand experience in navigating these same challenges.

I have walked the road you are on. Full stop, I know how hard it is. I am not a doctor nor licensed mental health practitioner, but what I do have is thirteen years of experience as an Alzheimer’s daughter and caregiver. I can share with you the things that worked and the things that didn’t. I can also share what you can and should expect from your doctors and medical team. Most importantly, I can show you how to protect your physical and mental health while you are on this difficult journey. I am not saying it will ever be easy, but there can be tremendous light, even in the midst of Alzheimer’s. I am here to help you find it and come through the other side of this disease. Alzheimer’s and Dementia are greedy diseases and will take all you have if you don’t protect yourself. I learned that the hard way and I am purposefully driven to help others get through this with more tools than I had.

Find the support right for you.
